About
Kevin Schirado
The website and the portfolio page present what I view as my best work to date. I do not have a specific subject matter or style defined for my work. I simply photograph what is in front of my camera at that moment and is of interest to me.
I live in the San Francisco bay area and I photograph mostly around the extended bay area and Northern California. If I had to photograph in only one location, it would be Yosemite Valley. My favorite subjects are landscapes, classic cars, long exposure, night photography. I have recently begun to explore infrared and astro photography. My primary digital darkroom tools are Lightroom, MacPhun Luminar And Aurora HDR and Photoshop. No more dark room chemicals!
I find inspiration in the works of artists such as Ansel Adams and Galen Rowell. I have recently been inspired by Joe Azure's portfolio. His images of the Golden Gate bridge are spectacular.
I currently work with the Canon 7Dmk2. I started photography in the late sixties using a 35mm with a handheld light meter and worked mostly in B&W print and color slide film. I Moved to digital after a 25 year break from photography after retiring in 2008.
